When we first got our wedding photos, just before Christmas last year, we saw that quote on the church's marquee in our combined family photo...

That quote was so fitting because we recognized our marriage was a gift from God, and we knew, thanks in part to pre-marital counseling, that in God's eyes our marriage was always meant to be greater than just the two of us being "happy" together.

Our marriage isn't about us it's about others. It's about bringing people together (the way our wedding did). It's about existing as a living, breathing, tangible example of the relationship between Christ and His church so others can see it. It's about having godly offspring and ensuring a godly legacy. It's about serving and impacting those around us for the glory of God.

Yes. It's not about the wedding, it's about the marriage. And the marriage isn't about us, but what God can do through Danny and I, as a unit, for others.

I refrained from sharing our photos before now, because I made it a point to send hand written thank you cards to the people who attended our shower in Florida and those who traveled to be with us on our special day. Unfortunately, it took me a lot longer than expected to write them all and send them out. [Better late than never!? lol]

I am not exaggerating when I say my wedding day was the best day of my life. I was surrounded by the people I loved most and I made a vow to become one before God with my best friend.

There have been so many people who supported our union in one way or another - whether through prayer, a gift, a kind word, and we have been blessed by the kindness of each person. [My friend Katrina even traveled all the way from London to celebrate with me...]

And that support didn't end when the wedding did, it's continued throughout our first year. Our marriage is now ONE Year STRONG - praise GOD!
