More to Life. More to Love.
I'm different. I've accepted that. I cannot limit myself to silly timelines or to wanting what I think I want based on what those I love the most or society tells me I should want and do. I am on a quest much like the main character Liz in the movie Eat Pray Love, much like Janie in Their Eyes Were Watching God and much like Zora Neale Hurston. I am daily cultivating the courage it will take to find what I'm looking for. And what am I looking for? I want to prove that there is more to this life-more than just going to school and getting married and going to church and having babies. There's more than simply making money and being satisfied with mediocrity and being self-absorbed. There's more to it. And there's more to love. More than sex and an oversexed and perverse society, more than just butterflies in your tummy, more than a formula of opposites attract and birds of a feather flock together. There's more to life and love. There's more to me. There's more to this world around me and more to what I think I have to offer. There's more! And I'm going to find it. I'm going to chase the answer to wherever it takes me.
With God as my guide and the Bible as my compass I'll find what it is I'm looking for. I'll see it in the eyes of some small child. I'll find it in conversation with someone I'd never usually think to talk to. I'll find it when the horizon of my world stretches beyond myself and my circle of friends, my house, my town, my city, my state, my nation. I'll find it in serving others. I'll find it when I place everything into the larger scheme of eternity. And if I have a soulmate -he'll find me as I journey. And if for some reason that is not what God has for me I stand assured that either way whenever God calls me home I will have accomplished all I was placed here to do.
Life is more than finding one person to love. Love is more than falling in love with one person. Life is knowing that you are loved by the Creator of All and allowing that love to inspire you to share that love with others.
